Huffmaster Crisis Response is recruiting experienced Plumbers with a State of Rhode Island Journeymen Plumber or Pipefitter’s License for a potential labor dispute that could occur at an Acute Care Facility in Rhode Island in mid to late September 2024.
Job Requirements:
- Summary: Maintains, repairs, inspects, and installs plumbing and piping systems in order to ensure safe and efficient environmental conditions.
- Education: HSD/GED
- Experience: 3-Years of Plumber/Pipefitter/Millwright Experience, Preferably at a Healthcare Facility
- Licensure: State of Rhode Island Journeymen Plumber or Pipefitter’s License (Valid Through 10/31/24)
Pay Rate: $90/Hour
Weekly Guarantee: 60-Hours (If Ready, Willing, and Able to Work Each Scheduled Shift)
Shift Length: 12-Hours
Assignment Commitment: Must have the ability to travel and be away from home for at least 45-days. The exact length of the assignment will be determined once the union issues a notice of intent to strike.

- $50 Per Day Per Diem to Cover the Cost for Meals and Incidentals

Requirements / Qualifications:

Technical Skills and Job Specific Tasks:
• Thoroughly and effectively troubleshoots service calls in order to prevent re-work.
• Accurately estimates and records the time and materials that is required to perform specific work assignments.
• Effectively anticipates supply needs and maintains an organized supply inventory.
• Correctly installs and repairs piping systems for water, steam, gas, suction, air, and waste.
• Correctly installs, operates, and repairs compressors and pumps.
• Accurately performs preventative maintenance tasks in order to prevent unnecessary equipment breakdowns and to prolong the useful life of equipment.
Working Conditions:
• Occasionally works with hazardous substances-reference material data safety sheets and complies with recommended safety measures.
• Occasionally exposed to isolation rooms, heat, dust, water, and noise and high voltage electrical equipment-utilizes appropriate safety apparel during the performance of tasks associated with these elements.
Physical Requirements:
• Duties require a person to stand, walk or bend for approximately 90% of his/her shift.
• Works on ladders and/or reaching positions for approximately 20% of his/her shift.
• Duties require the ability to lift weights of approximately 10 to 20 pounds for approximately 50% of his/her task.
• Duties require the ability to lift weights of approximately 50 pounds for approximately 10% of his/her task.
• Utilizes safety belts, lifting equipment and obtains assistance from other employees as needed in the performance of all duties which require lifting excessive weights.
• Maintains all safety requirements associated with the Medical Center.
