Huffmaster Crisis Response is recruiting experienced General Maintenance Workers with a Valid Driver’s License and Clean MVR for a potential labor dispute that could occur at an Acute Care Facility in Rhode Island in mid to late September 2024.
Job Requirements:
- Summary:
Performs a variety of duties in the operation maintenance and renovation of the facilities. - Education: HSD/GED
- Experience: 2-Years of General Maintenance Experience, Preferably at a Healthcare Facility
- Licensure: Valid Driver’s License (Valid Through 10/31/24) & Clean MVR
Pay Rate: $50/Hour
Weekly Guarantee: 60-Hours (If Ready, Willing, and Able to Work Each Scheduled Shift)
Shift Length: 12-Hours
Assignment Commitment: Must have the ability to travel and be away from home for at least 45-days. The exact length of the assignment will be determined once the union issues a notice of intent to strike.

- $50 Per Day Per Diem to Cover the Cost for Meals and Incidentals

Requirements / Qualifications:

• Thoroughly and effectively troubleshoots service calls in order to prevent re-work.
• Accurately estimates the time and materials that is required to perform specific work assignments.
• Effectively anticipates supply needs and maintains an organized supply inventory.
• Correctly installs, operates and repairs mechanical equipment/system, accurately performs general maintenance type repairs.
• Accurately performs preventative maintenance tasks in order to prevent unnecessary equipment breakdowns and to prolong the useful like of equipment.
• Accurately reads and understands blueprints and drawings.
• Assists with snow removal and related tasks.
Working Conditions:
• Occasionally works with hazard substances-references material data safety sheets and complies with all recommended safety measures.
• On average approximately 5% of the duties involve working with hazardous substances, which necessitate the use of safety apparel.
• Occasionally some of the duties involve working on or around moving machinery, electrical systems, infectious systems, excessive heat, dust and noise, which necessitates the use of proper precautions.
• Duties may require working inside and outside in all weather.
Physical Requirements:
• Work requires a person to stand or walk most of the day.
• On average approximately 50% of the tasks involve lifting weights in the range of 10 to 20 pounds and 10% of the tasks involve lifting weights of approximately 50 pounds.
• On average approximately 20% of the tasks involve reaching overhead and working off of ladders most of this time.
• Utilizes safety belts, lifting equipment and obtains assistance from other employees as needed in the performance of all duties which require lifting excessive weights.
