Assembly – CA

Huffmaster Crisis Response is recruiting experienced Assembly personnel to work during a possible labor dispute for a aerospace company located in California. This job action could occur end of August 2024.  

Pay Rate: $24/hour
Weekly Guarantee: 60-Hours (If Ready, Willing, and Able to Work Each Scheduled Shift)

Basic Requirements:

  • 1 Year of Assembly Experience Within the Last 5-years – OR – 6 Months of Experience Within the Last 3-Years
  • Sets-up, adjusts, prepares and operates assembly machines either manual and/or automatic, making required adjustments to diameters, grip lengths, etc., to assemble, bump, crimp, resize, or rework on any aerospace fasteners within the cell assigned
  • Provides necessary counts, processes documentation correctly, and maintains daily production logs using computer software applications or production worksheets. Keeps interim records for subassemblies, material, tooling, rework, etc. while in the cell.
  • Operates various other assembly support machines such as arbor or drill press, cutters, rollers, etc. Operates single spindle machines under direction of others and checks parts for dimensional characteristics and accuracy. Uses various hand tools such as wrenches, pliers, etc. in performing assembly tasks.
  • Coordinates closely with Qualifiers regarding quality, qualification criteria, and other requirements. Keeps responsible Qualifier up to date regarding status of all current operations being worked on.
  • Instructs machine operators in the operation of machines, methods and work sequences, quality requirements and safety precautions.
  • Works as an active team member by participating in problem solving, team building, and all other team activities to improve the processes, productivity, quality, etc. of the operations in a cell. Uses interpersonal skills as well as good written and verbal communications. Assists other cell members as required.
  • Must be willing and able to travel and deploy for a minimum of 45-day

Job Summary: 

Set-up, adjust, prepare and operate machines in an assembly area to perform various preparation, assembly, rework and finishing operations in accordance with part specifications and quality requirements. Instruct machine operators and monitor machines for quality production.
