Technology Project Coordinator

Huffmaster is accepting applications for experienced Technology Project Coordinator within our Protective Services Group.
Position Summary 

The primary role of the Technology Project Coordinator is to build and enhance customer relationships by ensuring the technology projects within the division are properly quoted, scheduled, budgeted for, and supported throughout the process.  Service delivery is accomplished by: 1) maintaining an open line of communication between all entities involved in a project, 2) providing updates on each project as changes occur, and 3) ensuring that the project is invoiced properly upon completion.  Primary responsibilities include working directly with the Sr. Director of Technology Solutions and Director of Technology Solutions to ensure that projects are properly quoted, scheduled, budgeted for, and supported throughout the process, that all invoices are completed and sent out in a timely manner, and that all vendors, suppliers, contractors, and integrators are managed properly. In addition, the Technology Project Coordinator will ensure that clients are kept up to date on the progress of all projects. The Technology Project Coordinator may also be utilized to perform on-site walkthroughs, audits, assessments, and any training that may be needed for client representatives.  
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities 
Project Coordination

  • Create quotes for projects using the input of PSG Management 
  • Schedule vendors, suppliers, contractors, and integrators as needed 
  • Review project budgets and purchase orders to ensure thresholds are maintained 
  • Support PSG Management with regard to projects 
  • Maintain open lines of communication with all parties involved in a project 
  • Maintain open action items list for each project and ensure they are addressed in a timely manner 
  • Create invoices as needed and ensure they are processed by accounting 

STAFF MANAGEMENT:

  • Recruiting, hiring, and training new security officers. 
  • Scheduling and assigning officers to different shifts and locations. 
  • Performance evaluation and disciplinary actions for officers. 
  • Ongoing training and development of guard skills. 

Technology Platforms
 

  • Attend training seminars for various software platforms as needed
  • Training of client personnel as needed

Customer Relations

  • Work with customer resources, ensuring they are kept informed of project progress
  • Coordinate new requests with customers as needed
  • Recommend preferred methods to improve effectiveness of our processes
  • Maintain client communications to ensure client retention

Subcontractor Relationships

  • Develop a cadre of subcontractors for installations, service calls, and sales calls
  • Manage all installations and service calls to ensure completion in a timely manner
  • Ensure contracts with subcontractors are executed prior to work being done
  • Ensure that all invoices from subcontractors are submitted for payment in a timely manner
  • Seek competitive quotes from multiple vendors for projects

QUALIFICATIONS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must understand and develop expertise within multiple VMS platforms.  Candidates will be required to develop experience with access control platforms.  Preferred candidates will have experience with Milestone or Avigilon VMS platforms, or possess knowledge of IP cameras.  Basic Microsoft Office application use will be a requirement.  Use of Zoho software would be a plus.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
High School Diploma is required, college degree or technical college degree preferred.   Basic working knowledge of IP-based video systems, access control systems, etc. Five years’ experience in a security technology environment preferred.

TECHNICAL LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read and interpret work orders, purchase orders, etc.  Ability to communicate, both verbally and written, all necessary information surrounding core job duties.

MATHMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply & divide.

REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to solve technical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.  Must possess strong analytical abilities and deductive reasoning skills.  Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

COMPUTER SKILLS:
Basic working knowledge of VMS platforms, IP camera types, and access control systems is mandatory.  Microsoft Office suite mandatory.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
Valid Driver’s License with good driving record.  Must be willing to obtain certificates through various training provided by the software manufacturers used within the Division.

Physical Demands:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. 
 
While this position does not normally perform much physical work, the ability to inspect others work will require some physical demands.  Employee must be able to climb ladders and other forms of equipment, have the strength to hold his or her body weight by arms, squat, kneel, bend, run, jump, stand for long periods of time, climb stairs, lift a minimum of 50 pounds, and be able to work long hours.   
 
Although this position is an administrative one, it may require that the employee perform assessments, audits, or training on-site. Therefore, this position is required to travel from time to time.   

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The primary day-to-day job is remote.  Occasional travel to customer locations may be required.
